Company Background

Studio UNIT was founded by Ms. Vivien Liu in 2016.

We are a multidisciplinary studio with an experienced background in architecture, specializing in Architecture, Interior, Portrait and Lifestyle production. Our experience covers photography and cinematography for a diverse range of prestigious clients, including those in the design, real estate and travel sectors.

Not only do we know architecture. We are accoladed due to our founder’s trained architectural eye that translates space into captivating visuals, gaining her a massive organic following on social media as well as the title of Best Female Photographer by #legend in 2017. In our early days, our work has consistently appeared on 10-Best features from popular publications such as ArchDaily, HK Tatler, TimeOut and South China Morning Post. Today, we are creating productions for leading global brands, as well as top architecture firms and developers on world-class, iconic buildings.

Vivien Liu, Project Director and Creative Lead

Vivien received her Masters of Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where she was awarded the prestigious Clifford Wong Prize in Housing Design.

After 15 years in architecture and working for renowned firms such as the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), Vivien discovered a passion in photographing the urban density and built environment of Hong Kong and around the world. Her photography on Instagram has attracted more than 230,000 followers who check in to see her unique point of view every day.

Because of her extensive architectural background, she is known for portraying space and subjects with a trained architectural eye. She is trusted by a diverse range of clients including Nikon, Sony, Huawei, Leica, Henderson Land and The Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Vivien’s work has brought an international spotlight on the cultural identity of Hong Kong, with specific highlight on its architecture, people and natural landscape.
